How To Decorate The Guest Room With Style
Posted by admin in Janitorial Service on June 7th, 2010
It’s often the most neglected room in the house, until company is coming. Then you scramble around looking for bedding, cleaning out the clutter and tidying. The guest room should be a place of solitude for your company instead of a source of worry for you. Learn how to set up and decorate this room in a simple, stylish way.
Deck out your guest room for overnight comfort with high quality, well made linen. Neutral towel sets can be kept aside for company, three or four sets should be enough. Pick out two sheet sets with high thread-counts and two warm, hypo-allergenic bedding quilts. To complete the bed, make sure to supply four fresh pillows, full but not overly firm. Keep all of the bedding in a neutral tone that matches the towels.
For comfort and convenience make sure to include these items in your spare room as well. On the nightstand there should be a reading lamp and an alarm clock. Set the clock to the correct time and check that the lamp is plugged in and working before your guests go to bed. Install a mirror in the room to assist them with getting dressed and provide space for their clothing and luggage. A large dresser and clear room in the closet is a good idea.
Pick out well made, stylish furniture that isn’t too bold or dated. Wood is often the best choice and will last for years with little maintenance. A set with matching bedside tables and at least a double bed is a good choice. Sleigh beds are ideal for styling and have an attractive, inviting look that never goes out of fashion. Choose muted colors instead of brass, gold or other bright hues.
Art on the walls should be understated; landscapes and simple paintings work the best. You can go with a theme room, but don’t go overboard. You want your guests to feel at home, not in a museum. Larger frames should be hung on large walls and small prints work well in interesting layouts. Install room darkening window coverings, but make sure they can be pulled up to allow the sunshine in the room.
Arrange a few spare blankets on the Sleigh bed and place the extra pillows in the closet. Try not to pile or clutter up the furniture and arrange the closet well so that there is space free for guests. Put your own items in boxes or bins and organize them neatly.
Your guests will appreciate the calm and comfortable atmosphere you’ve created for them in this simply decorated guest room. Then they will be sure to visit again soon.

Developing your career is something you should keep in mind from the very start of your work experience. Keeping your eye on where you are in your career and where you want to go is essential in moving forward. Visualizing where you want to be career-wise will help you learn, grown and achieve. Otherwise, you may fall into the trap of your daily work routine. If you do not want to stuck, ask yourself a few questions on how you will move forward.
Set goals. These can be long or short term goals. You can plan for the month, year or several years ahead. Where do you want to be in a year from now in your job? When you retire, what post do you want to retire from? Keep these questions in mind when you are preparing your goals.
Do you actually enjoy what you do? Are you a sales rep for a bedding collection? Maybe you are interested in designing a collection of your own? A job that you have now to handle your bills does not mean you have to stay in this position until retirement. Look beyond paying your bills into the place that holds your passions.
Before you make any rush decisions, make sure you know what your niche is. Maybe you accidentally discovered you have a passion for interior design while creating your own full loft bed. Remain conscience of the things you do on a daily basis that make you happy.
If you are certainly ready to stop daydreaming about your sanyo rice cooker while at work, it may be time to concoct a plan. So, you know you want to be an interior designer. What do you have to do to get there? What are the educational qualifications you need? Network with people in that field and get a feel for what it actual takes to become a successful interior designer (or whatever other profession you are interested in).
Create a specific plan of action to achieve your goal. Create a step by step plan that will help move you forward. A plan of action will make your goal feel attainable; of course, it is only a matter of time when you know what you want and how to get it.
If you want a great career, you will have to work for it. The first step is realizing that your goal is attainable. Adjust your plan as you go and appreciate your efforts. As long as you continue to go after your dream it is only a matter of time before you will achieve it.

Bringing Life to Your Walls with Wall Sculptures
Posted by admin in Janitorial Service on May 11th, 2010
I visited a friend a short while ago and, even though I don’t typically take note of such things, I became interested by his room decoration. The style is something called steam punk, a kind of futuristic Victorian, which seemed like it came straight from Jules Verne, a kind of Captain Nemo meets Robur the Conqueror, all shimmering brass, leather, futuristic technology, and clockwork. My friend’s version was much more ‘Indiana Jones’, with his steamer trunk table, assortment of interesting artifacts, statues and interesting ancient wall reliefs. It went together with his home, originally built in the 1920’s and made a comfortable, intriguing interior nicely suited to his massive collection of books.
My house is rather more modern, so when I pondered options for decorating my den (something I had been informed was ‘up to me’) I declined the steam punk concept. Although I am no interior designer I can tell that a certain proportion between interior and outside is beneficial. While modern day houses are usually roomy they are often really dull, then i recognized this gave me more scope to be able to stamp my own individuality on the room, and that notion gave me the idea to use wall art and wall sculptures to give my room some personality, but what would work best?
Old Greek structures weren’t what we understand today. Many people understand that they were wonderful buildings that stood, in many cases for centuries, prior to suffering deterioration we see now, but did you know that they had been bright colored? You wouldn’t think so to look at the remains in a museum. I used to eat my lunchtime while admiring the huge Assyrians gateways within the British Museum in London, just along from room 18, the home of the ‘Elgin marbles’. These famous sculptures were stripped away from the Parthenon in the first years of the 19th century by the Earl of Elgin, and the Greek government is still seeking to get them returned to Greece. The sculptures tend to be stark, white and intensely stunning, precisely what we think of whenever we consider ‘classical art’ yet exactly what might the ancients have thought of them? Euripides impart us with a hint in his play ‘Helen of Troy’ when Helen says ‘If only I could shed my beauty and assume an uglier aspect, the way you wipe paint off a statue’. Those spectacular marble statues in their gleaming white were once vivid and multi-colored. So different from what we see now and connect with the ancient world, that it’s really difficult to imagine.
We all look at the ancient gods as abstract, as a result historical wall sculptures such as Poseidon in his chariot are ‘classical’ and absolutely at home in a modern room. It was only at the Renaissance that, finding ancient sculpture stripped of their paint by time, the sculptors thought they had originally been white marble, and attempted to copy them. In antiquity the Greeks believed in living breathing Gods;their particular statues had been painted brightly to echo that. While we enjoy the incredible workmanship of the Parthenon statues the ancients adored their lifelike quality so much so that it was said that at certain times during the day it was like the gods in their friezes actually moved. The sculpture and painting methods had been designed to bond and boost the three dimensional quality of the natural stone, bringing the subject to life. Archaeologist Vinzenz Brinkmann is working hard to analyze ancient statues and build authentic reproductions. These, detailed with complex paint techniques and colors are as close as possible to those used in ancient times and the results are intriguing; the ancient world will never seem the same again.
So what should I do? I could choose time-honored Greek wall art and create a modern room, making my personal choice on a basis of meaning. Hercules wrestling the lion might emphasize that even when my todo checklist is a bit lengthy, it is not the Labours of Hercules, whereas Dionysus on a donkey would remind me that the point of work is always to fund the enjoyment in the future. As an inhabitant of the ” new world ” I could use Mayan wall reliefs, but I believe my selection could be more ancient still. From Ramses who drove out the Hittites at the Battle of Kadesh, to the idea of Maat, goddess of justice and order, the wall sculptures of the Ancient Egyptians hold a continuous enchantment. We are more familiar with coloration when it comes to Egypt, and therefore see these more as they really were, vibrant and remarkable in the desert sunlight. Egyptian decor could definitely be the right choice.
For my Bedroom my main choice is clear; Thoth, the god of writing and wisdom, to keep me right at all times!

You Can Sell Just About Anything Online
Posted by admin in Janitorial Service on March 14th, 2010
Many individuals who want to make a living from home with an online business run out of ideas almost before they start. That’s because they’re limiting their focus to the big niches. Those big markets are usually already saturated though.
There are some very big hitters on the big money markets and you don’t want to compete against them. A change of tactics may be what you need. Try the small niche markets and you just might find your internet business income in one of those.
Somebody said, ‘follow your bliss.’ The meaning of this is that if you are passionate about something, you will have more of a chance of being successful at it. If instead of looking at markets you know nothing about but think you should enter because they’re potentially lucrative, concentrate on what you love. See if there’s a niche for you in there somewhere.
Have you heard the story about the two kids who started swapping sports cards online. First they just did it between themselves. Then they got the idea to make a collectable sports cards website. They spread the word and other collectors came. Within a few years, these couple of kids were millionaires, just because they liked trading cards.
There are also quite a few people whose passion for interior design led them to start browsing all the internet sites on their home decor accents wish list. They looked at vases, lamps and other accent products and longed to be able to afford them. Then one day, one of them decided that if she couldn’t afford to own all those beautiful things, she would at least make a website about them.
As she filled her virtual shelves with items she loved, people who shared her tastes began to find her and look forward to seeing and buying whatever she found next. She accommodated them and found unique suppliers and followed up by finding reliable shipping companies.
Her business went from strength to strength and she continued to add things to her catalog. She found a source for bedding collections that were truly unique and unavailable in department stores. She added furniture and other larger items. Within a few years, she was no longer dreaming about being a successful interior designer, she was one.
There are no guarantees, but wouldn’t you rather throw yourself into something you were passionate about than just try and make money online? Your chances are at least as good as they are with something that has made somebody else a bundle.
